There’s nothing quite like when the Marysville Sun comes out.
☀️87,000 Reasons to Vote
George Orwell once wrote, “Sometimes the first duty of intelligent men is the restatement of the obvious.” He also might have said, had he lived to see what’s happening today, that it is obvious that we don’t have intelligent men at the head of state.
Earlier this week the Senate Democrats passed the “Inflation Reduction Act” (a chef’s kiss of Orwellian irony), a bill that gives 80 billion dollars over ten years to the IRS, from which the IRS plan to hire almost 87,000 new agents. Many of these employees won’t be hired for their accounting skills, but for their ability to participate in “dangerous assignments.” The following screenshot comes from the Major Duties and other requirements at the IRS Careers page.
This from a government that won’t state the obvious about our current recession, a government complaining about shootings at schools but who is hiring a stadium’s worth of tax enforcers rather than security officers, a government that already this year has “bought almost 5,000,000 rounds of small arms ammunition — spending almost $700,000 in the process” for the IRS.
Of course all of this is the government we deserve, and the taxes on our culture are tedious.
This isn’t a presidential election year, but there’s still work to do. In the recent Washington State Primary, Snohomish county only had a 37% voter turnout, and most of the results for local legislative races somehow still lean toward the same party that won’t do honest math. It’s obvious that we don’t need more IRS Special Agents, but instead more intelligent citizens. They are giving us 87k reasons to vote.

Sometimes you just have no doubts.
That’s definitely a corntastic video!!
I also love that you made Arlington a suburb of Marysville.
The hiring of armed IRS agents seems rather ominous and concerning especially in an era of major government overreach and irritation toward faithful biblical and anti-tyrannical churches and schools.
We do have an upcoming event for Marysville, the 5th Annual All Marysville Garage Sale Aug. 19-21! Sign ups at www.MarysvilleGSale.com
