Good morning, Marysville! Show a little enthusiasm. 🤩
☀️Nativity Scenes
Advent season always makes me think about abortion.
For reasons parents of little kids probably appreciate, our nativity scenes don't include Herod's soldiers killing all the male children two and under. For those who think, "But that happened a significant time after Jesus was born," that’s correct. And how did Herod learn about Jesus' birth? He learned from the men from the East, the men with gold, frankincense, and myrrh, the men that we do often include in our nativity scenes. My point isn't that we should take out the Magi, or include the soldiers, but that we should remember Jesus' birth was a celebration for some and a threat to others.
Herod feared the loss of power. The star in the sky identified the "King of the Jews" but Herod thought that throne was taken, by himself. He wanted the kid dead so he could continue living the glorious life he was trying to make for himself.
Abortion might not be the vision of kings, but it is of DINKs. The Dual-Income-No-Kids couples made news again this past week. You can see just one example of the superficial and self-defeating thinking in the video below. “All the snacks that we want” is quite a life goal.
Of course it's not just DINKs that need abortion to support their lifestyle. It's a favorite weapon of feminists competing for (what they think is) power, and of unwed women who want to cause their own hassles instead of having kid caused hassles. Men are just as happy to make money from the procedure, from selling the body parts, or at least glad to save all that child support.
It's not an issue just during the Christmas season, but during election season. So-called "Conservatives" have continued complaining that those with a "hard" stance against abortion (whereby "hard" means wanting NO murder) are killing their chances of winning elections. Donald Trump seems to have compromised from his Pro-life to more of a Meh-Life position. He’s obviously not the standard, just a high-profile sample.
What are we really gaining by winning an administrative seat by destroying souls, the souls of those who murder and of those who never see the sun?
The good news is that the virgin Mary bore a son, whose name was Jesus, and He is saving His people from their sins. Jesus is Immanuel, “God with us.” Because He took on flesh, and then shed His blood, all those who believe in Him have their sins forgiven, including those who have exalted themselves, who have sought the glory that comes from man, and who have been swift to shed blood. Because of Christ the hearts of fathers and mothers are turned to their kids, and we can have a truly merry Christmas.

Last, you don’t have to like Chevrolet anything, and I’m not saying this isn’t high on sentimentality. But it is surprisingly good sentiment in a short story. Your eye-sockets will feel more full as you watch.
